Look what I found yesterday

... both of us are rather obsessed with all things trim, ribbon, pom pom and beading. So these little finds are perfect eye food for us. We always think it would be nice appliqué bits to a large mens tee, which we think would balance out the giltz, to create an interesting top. Or maybe they'll go into our huge chest of drawers full of trim with the other hundreds of pieces......hmmm
The embroidery swatches are beyond gorgeous and in perfect condition. Lucky finds!

If you've never seen it..... King of Kong (fistful of quarters)

This documentary is brilliant. Its basically about two guys competeing to be the world recorder holder for the original Donkey Kong. So funny. Billy Mitchell's hair is pretty funny too.

If you've never seen it....Paris is Burning

A must see for everybody. Paris is Burning is a documentary filmed in New York in the late 80's all about the infamous 'Vogue Ball'. It depicts the 'Golden Age' of drag balls attended by the 'children' of the 'Houses' which is bascially a gay fashion gang. Unbelieveably touching the film covers everything from HIV and AIDs to shop lifting the next 'must-have' look.

The Arbour of Love ♡ Niki Pilkington

I could look at Niki's work ALL the livelong day. She's got such an amazing style. Recently we have noticed a HUGE influx in female portrait illustrators. And a lot of them appear to be trying (and failing) to bite Niki's style. Her work has such an individuality to it. Go take a look at her site it's a real treat for the eyes..
